So today is the first day of the Lunar New Year, after series of everlasting, on-going fireworks last night. I slept like a baby regardless and was attuned to the noise. What bothers me more was the pollution it caused to the environment. During school, I wrote an essay and debated that fireworks bring more harm than good. I hope eventually, people may reconsider not burning fireworks but welcome the new year in more environmental friendly ways.
I woke up to 2 shrieking toddlers and I spent some time making origami with them. I really don't think they are impressed with folding papers at all. They seem more interested in crumbling the papers and tossing it around. The poor adults had to pick them up later. Children enjoys being destructive more than constructive. We ended up watching wheels on the bus on youtube.
After which, the usual gang came by and it was really fun to have so many people crowd inside the house. Which ever corner I go to, there will eventually be someone there. Roaming from the couch potato adults in living room to kids playing with toy cars in the kitchen. And then we have the aunties playing mahjong in the patio.
I like the feeling that everyone is very homey with each other because we practically grew up with each other.
Every year, we would take a family photo and it is something that everyone look forward to be a part of.
This year, we synchronised the theme and everyone will be wearing something red for the fun of it. Apparently, one family was not notified in advance. It's easy to spot which family.
Anyhow, anyho, here's some snapshot of the photos, before and after.

What's funny here is that I was delegating who sits where while my sister was arranging the camera angle. She took some snapshots of me assigning. I had a toddler wanting me and only me to carry her. She can be seen waiting patiently on my left.

The guy on the far left tries to camouflage himself.
So the first shot is usually the formal shot.
Then funny shot.
And then moral booster shot. So I suggested, HUAT AH!
Everyone follows suit and when we did, the camera man who is also the domestic helper broke to laughter.
It's nice to have a big family who works well with each other. We are very co operative whereby it's easy to delegate, assign and instruct. It's a great family to be a part of.
